Mozart Violin Concerto. Richard Tognetti

  1. The piece is very dynamic, and the dynamics change a lot between different instruments. There is either a supporting bass line with the soloist, or the whole band is playing the same rhythm. The higher strings may mimic the soloist at times. All the players are very tight and in sync, and they never go out of time. The mood changes from a slow legato melody to a strong staccato phrase that inserts even more contrast into the piece.

  2. The music includes heaps of dynamics, some parts its just the soloist other parts the whole orchestra are quite loud. It covers a large amount of notes and goes from really slow to really fast. The orchestra backs him up making big sounds or just adding depth. The melody is started by the soloist and then repeated by the orchestra. Its almost bouncy and the people playing are standing and moving around a bit especially the soloist.

  3. This song covers a lot of dynamics, which creates contrast between loud/angry and soft/sad. The instrumentation includes violin and double bass, so you can always make out two different sounds, which come together in harmony. The tempo is steady, but speeds up slightly towards the end, creating drama. The rhythm includes the use of both minums, and sixteenth notes, which adds to drama. The melody line is happy, and uses staccato in the intro and midway through the song to express how the momentum of the song hasn't started yet. and this is conveyed by the ascending notes.

  4. The Melody is going up and down in pitch the tempo was quite fast the harmony was low the song was quite jumpy between different notes and the dynamics were continually changing between forte and piano and gradually grows until it is fortissimo then suddenly ends soon after

  5. This song starts of sounding happy with lots of major notes in there. The musicians use their body language to create meaning and emotion. After the intro it goes into a duelling part where he plays a descending melody, and in the break the orchestra plays minor sounding notes. They use dynamics well, speeding things up and slowing them down again. Towards the end the piece reaches a climax, slows back down and then comes to an end.

  6. the melody is going up and down the melody is also jumpy. The tempo is mostly fast, but it does get slightly slower at points. its rhythm does not have a prominent beat. dynamics have sudden changes and pauses for added tension. instrumentation is orchestra.

  7. The melody was going up and down. The music had 3 layers of instruments. The music was mf and is in a major key. It keeps the beat steady. The song is very calm and then becomes intense. During the middle it quietens down then comes up.

  8. The way he created meaning was through his movement and harmonies with the orchestra when playing. He played with an orchestra but was still centre of attention. The harmonies between him and the orchestra was beautiful and meaningful. The dynamics were strong and the melody was mesmerising. His movement was little but he still managed to portray meaning through his movement.

  9. This piece is quite happy and is constantly switching between staccato and legato phrases; this is sometimes used as a question answer between the violins and the bass strings. At times in the piece the soloist is playing in harmony with the first violin part and at other playing solo with the first violins playing a harmony.
